Pupils across the country went back to school this week and Cumbria Archives celebrated by releasing samples of an exam from 1946.

The entrance exam was for Barrow Grammar School and would have been taken by prospective students.

It's entirely possible that your grandparents took this very test, but do you think you could ace it?

The grammar schools, with one for boys and one for girls, merged to form the Parkview Community College of Technology in 1979.

In 2012, this became Furness Academy, with the original buildings demolished in 2014.
