TRIBUTES have been paid to a passionate member and supporter of Barrow's music scene.
Kara-Leigh Wilkinson has died at the age of 29.
The Barrow-born mum was part of the team at Barrow Underground Music Scene (BUMS) where she shared her love for music and arts.
The manager of BUMS Rob Dunphy paid tribute to Kara-Leigh and described her as an 'inspiration.'
Mr Dunphy said: "Kara-Leigh was more than just a co-volunteer at BUMS. Her passion for music was infectious, inspiring all of us to strive for the very best in our venue and the local music scene.
"During lockdowns, when the world seemed to dim, Kara-Leigh illuminated our lives with her unwavering spirit. During her Sunday night live broadcasts, she shared her music and reached out to those struggling with mental health."
She pursued a degree at Salford University, studying Artist and Venue Management, but she still remained an integral part of the venue.
"She showed us how to lose ourselves in the music, to surrender to its rhythm and let it guide our spirits," said the BUMS manager.
"Beyond the club's walls, Kara-Leigh extended her love and support to us all.
"She became woven into the fabric of our individual families. Her warmth, laughter, and unselfish devotion added so much to us all."
Kara-Leigh's funeral occurred at St Paul's church on August 22 with 300 people attending.
"We partied into the night with powder paint bombs being thrown all over us, music, dancing and laughter and later included a very special main stage sing-along with Kara-Leigh's daughter Allie," said Mr Dunphy.
"The outpouring from our friends and colleagues in the music industry came from around the world and across the country and it has been humbling."
Venue bosses are planning to re-run the art exhibition that she tragically didn't finish as well as future exhibitions showcasing other pieces of her work.
The venue will be using her initials to establish some new music and DJ nights.
The company Custom Threads Cumbria has offered to create a series of unique merchandise based on the many designs that Kara-Leigh left all over BUMS walls and behind the bar.
"Each and every sale will be putting money to charity and towards a trust fund for her daughter's future," said BUMS manager.
"Let us keep her melody alive in our hearts. She will forever remain in the symphony of our lives."
