A pop-up campsite near Newby Bridge has been given permission to operate under a new law until October 9.
New government regulations mean that landowners can apply for planning permission for a 60-day temporary recreational campsite. Previously, permission was only given for up to 28 days.
Between 2020-21, the government extended this to 56 days. However, from July 26 sites could accommodate up to 50 tents, motorhomes or campervans over a period of 60 days.
Mr & Mrs Paul Richardson, owners of land at Valley End, gave written notice to the Lake District Park Authority for the site to be open for use between Friday, August 11 and Monday, October 9.
An attached copy of the site plan details the location of a portable toilet and waste disposal, which is required to gain consent.
