DOZENS of tractors are ready to roll along in towns and villages in aid of a charity.
The Furness and District Tractor run is taking place for the fourth time on Sunday September 3 to raise funds for St Mary's Hospice.
Up to 75 tractors will start their journey at 10am departing from The Greyhound Inn in Grizebeck and will tour across the Furness Penisula.
The route is estimated to take under 40 miles over the day with plenty of viewing points along the way.
The event offers visitors a chance to witness tractors from the 1950s to the most modern ones.
The family event is organised by Alan Irving and his partner Karen Higgs.
Mr Irving said: "The tractor run is all about local people raising money for a local cause. Everybody usually knows someone who has some sort of care through St. Mary's Hospice.
"We end up with a great audience. People come out to watch us. It is a free event and brings people outside."
Head of Fundraising for St Mary's Hospice Helen Carlson said the event has to date raised a 'staggering' £27,644 for the charity.
She said: "The lengths our supporters go to in support of St Mary’s never ceases to amaze.
"We are really looking forward to their next event on September 3.
"8 out of every 10 patients cared for at St Mary’s are paid for by voluntary income.
"Community events, like the Tractor Run, are so important to the hospice as they ensure we can continue to offer support and care to our loved ones.
"A huge thank you to Karen Higgs and Alan Irving for their support and indeed to everyone who supports this event.
"Together we will continue to make a difference to those who need us most. Thank you."
