FURNESS Academy pupils and staff have been praised for their achievements after receiving their GCSE results this morning.
Headteacher Simon Laheney said they were 'delighted' with the achievements that their students are celebrating today.
Mr Laheney said: "It has been a challenging few years for all young people yet, despite this, we have been hugely impressed by the way our students have handled the situation with the utmost dignity and maturity."
"I would also like to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of our staff, along with parents and carers, who have all played their part in supporting our students during their time at Furness Academy. It is always a real team effort."
The headteacher said they had 'great' individual success at Furness Academy with 'many fantastic results and achievements.'
He said: "I am really proud of what our students have accomplished, and we wish them every success in the future."
