A clothes and shoe shop that has operated in Ulverston for over 20 years is closing its doors for good.
Urban Legendz on Market Place sells adult and children's clothing and shoes along with skateboarding accessories.
Staff at the family-run independent shop have always prided themselves on wearing the clothes that they are proud to sell. Typical brands featured in the shop are Dr.Martens, Weird Fish, Converse, Slamm Scooters, Vans, Merrell, DC, Old Guys Rule, Fox Racing and Sant.
Owner John Waddington has been trading for longer at 42 years. This paper previously featured him as 'trader of the week' reporting that he started selling clothes after being laid off as an engineer at the age of 20.
Speaking on the Urban Legendz Facebook page, he said: "After 42 years, I have made the decision to put myself and my health first. I have been privileged enough to stay in business for 42 years.
"I have had customers who have become lifelong friends. I will miss you all and the conversations we have had. To all my local and loyal customers, I thank you for making this possible, without you all (John Jeans) Urban Legendz would have not been as successful as it has been."
As a thank you, he put on a sale to his local and loyal customers first. The closing-down sale was then opened a couple of days later to the wider public. Customers can still grab a bargain this week which will be the store's last week.
John went on to add: "The last day of opening will be Saturday August 26. It would be lovely to see you all before I enter my journey of spending some time for me, my family and grandchildren.
"I write this with tears, happiness and fond memories. From me and staff past and present, thank you."
The opening hours for this last week are 10am to 5pm, Thursday 10am -7pm and Friday and Saturday 10am-5pm.
and on the last day (Saturday, August 26) from 10am - 7pm.
