Storrs Hall, a country house hotel located on the shores of Windermere in the Lake District, is set to open a new bistro this Autumn.
The bistro, which is yet to have its name revealed, will be set alongside the hotel's Lake Edge Restaurant, with the whole south-facing side of the Georgian country house dedicated to dining.
Offering stunning views of the lake, the informal French bistro style menu will be available for both guests and non-guests from lunchtime through to dinner.
Renovations at the hotel have already included the construction of a new and notably larger kitchen.
Considered state-of-the-art, this kitchen is one of only three of its kind in the UK and has been designed with energy efficiency in mind.
Plans are also underway to extend the terrace, providing an al fresco dining area and taking full advantage of the views over Windermere.
Andrew Nicholson, General Manager of Storrs Hall said: “It’s an exciting time for Storrs Hall. The new kitchen is state of the art, only the third of its kind in the UK and will be much more energy efficient, as well as very cleverly designed. "We’re aiming to open the doors of the new bistro around September and the extension of the terrace will follow that. We have plans for further new developments down the line too. We’re working hard to ensure that Storrs Hall continues to be one of the best places to stay in the Lake District.”
