BARROW Raiders half-back Jarrod Sammut has been suspended for five matches, and fined £375.
This comes after the Maltese international was found guilty of a Grade E charge of disputing a decision 'using aggressive language or body language' during the club’s Betfred Championship match at Halifax Panthers on June 25.
Sammut’s not-guilty plea against the charge was subsequently rejected with the Raiders half-back now set to miss the Raiders’ upcoming Betfred Championship fixtures.
Sammut will now miss the Raiders' clashes with the Sheffield Eagles, Featherstone Rovers, Bradford Bulls, London Broncos, and the Cumbrian derby against Whitehaven.
He will not be available for selection by Raiders head coach Paul Crarey until the club’s Round 23 trip to Toulouse Olympique on Saturday 26 August.
