A NEW Comedy Festival is coming to Ulverston this year.
Pitch Up Events Ltd has partnered with Jason Manford's very own comedy club to bring a stacked lineup of TV comedians, as well as a selection of some of the brightest rising stars on the circuit.
The Pitch Up Comedy Festival is set to feature the nostalgic Jimmy Cricket, Angelos Epithemiou and Clinton Baptise from Pheonix Nights, just to name a few.
Local musicians such as George Barr and DJ Sam Stephens will also be in attendance, along with some of the region's best food vendors.
James Bonner, director at Pitch Up Events, first came up with the idea of bringing a comedy festival to the area when he visited one in Greenwich Park, London.
He said: "Our ambition with Pitch Up is to bring events from the city into our local area. We are so excited to bring these big stars to Ulverston and are sure that there will be something for everyone. We're keen for everyone to be entertained.
"This is an event that we want to grow into something even bigger. Our long-term plan is to take music and comedy festivals all over Cumbria.
"If the local people get behind this and enjoy it, then we'll go for some even bigger celebrity names in the future. Hopefully, we can attract thousands of people into the town centre."
It will be held on September 2 at Ford Park.
Early bird tickets are currently on sale priced at £17.50 p/p (for over 18's) and can be purchased online by clicking this link. Tickets will increase to £20 once sold.
Doors open at noon and the event will finish at 9pm
