Three of South Cumbria’s best up-and-coming rugby stars will take on Scotland this weekend.
Dan Knott, Tom Farren and Joshua Blinkhorn are part of an England lions under 18's development squad.
This Saturday (June 17) the team will take on their second of four matches when they play Scotland at Ashton Bears RLFC (kick off at 2pm).
Their confidence is sky-high after winning their first match against Wales 50-6.
In their debut for the England Lions, Dalton Dragon’s players Knott and Blinkhorn both scored a try.
Knott, who stars as a winger, scored a try within just twenty minutes of play and brought the score to 20-0.
After 52 minutes, England continued their attack and Blinkhorn, who plays as a hooker, ran across to score at the side of the posts.
Tom Farren, from Roose Pioneers, put in some strong running and the coaching staff were delighted with the team’s effort.
Knott said: “I feel great about our performance and it was a proud moment being able to go over the line and score too.”
After Scotland they will go on to play matches against Ireland and Wales once again.
