A SWIMMER suffered serious injuries after landing on rocks while attempting to jump into the water.
Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team (LAMRT) were called to an incident on Saturday (June 10) after a swimmer caused serious injuries to their lower legs after landing on rocks.
The team provided medical attention, and as darkness fell, requested help from the coastguard to fly the casualty to hospital.
"Aside from this, team members were eaten by an epic swarm of midges," a LAMRT spokesman said.
"Thank you to Coastguard Rescue 199 for their invaluable assistance. We pass on our best wishes to the casualty for a speedy recovery."
