Motorists will have six road closures to avoid on the National Highways network over the next few weeks.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• M6, from 7pm May 12 to 5am May 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 36, Lane closures for survey works.
And a further five closures will begin over the next seven days:
• A590, from 8pm May 18 to 6am May 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Witherslack to Sampool, traffic signals for SU works (BT).
• A590, from 8pm May 21 to 8pm May 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 eastbound and westbound, Newby Bridge to Haverthwaite, Lane two closure Switching to Lane one for Grass cutting, Weed Spraying, Litter removal, drainage clearance and inspections.
• A590, from 8pm May 22 to 5am May 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A590 Ulverston Road, traffic signals for works (BT).
• A590, from midday, to 8pm on May 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A590 and M6 J36. Heavy traffic expected due to Cartmel Races.
• A590, from midday, to 8pm on May 29, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A590 and M6 J36. Heavy traffic expected due to Cartmel Races
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
