FOR the first time ever, a woman is the first to cross the finish line of the famous 40-mile Keswick to Barrow trail.
Sarah Jones, running in the St Bernards High School team, and fundraising for St Mary's Hospice, passed the finish line at Hawcoat Park at around 10.20am, completing the course in a staggering five hours and eight minutes.
However, due to the staggered start times, with runners setting off between 5.15am and 6.15am, the person with the fast time overall (so far), passed the finish line third.
James Prescott, raising funds for Hawcoat Park Junior Football Club, was third across the line in a remarkable four hours and 49 minutes.
Jamie Morrow, running his first Keswick to Barrow for Youthability, clocked up a time of five hours and 17 minutes, crossing the line second, and the first man to do so this year.
