THE owners of a Furness home have been warned to stop using it as a holiday let after planning permission was rejected.
An enforcement notice aiming to stop the property, in Kirkby-in-Furness, being used as a holiday let is to take effect on May 30, Westmorland and Furness Council (WFC) has said.
The council notice, published online, said the development at Stone Arthur, situated along the A595, had not been accompanied by 'acceptable levels of amenity for neighbouring users with regards to noise and disturbance'.
The document said a change of use from a residential property to a holiday let had occurred without planning permission.
It stipulated the premises must 'permanently cease' to be a commercial holiday let and that a defined outdoor area must also no longer be used for this purpose.

The notice was served on Patricia Kilty, listed as director of Lady Cumbria; Michael Kilty, listed as secretary of Lady Cumbria; and Castle Trust Capital Plc, which is based in London.
Compliance must occur within 13 weeks of the notice taking effect.
An online listing on the WFC website says the notice has been served and indicates no appeal has yet been made. An appeal could affect the date from which the notice would take effect.
Last month, it was reported that a retrospective application – submitted by Mrs Kilty – to turn Stone Arthur into a six-bedroom holiday let for up to 12 people had been refused.
In its notice of refusal of permission, WFC said the change of use had given rise to 'significant noise and disturbance' that had caused 'unacceptable harm to the living conditions' of neighbours.

A number of people submitted representations related to the application.
Among them was Michael McPherson, who said holidaymakers had been parking along the A595 and 'more often than not' on the pavement, obscuring the exit from his own street, Combe Crescent.
"Not only has the hot tub been used at all hours of the day and night, causing noise and disturbance, but, only recently, people were in it before 7.30am," he said in his objection, dated March 13 of this year.
An attempt was made to contact Mrs Kilty through the application agent, PWA Planning, but no response was received.
