BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild has reflected on his first season in charge of the Bluebirds ahead of the final game of the 2022/23 League Two season.
Wild was unveiled as the Barrow head coach on May 27 2022 and in his first full season as the Bluebirds boss has steered the club to their fifth-highest league finish in history.
This comes almost 12 months after Barrow escaped relegation to the National League by just five points.
Ahead of the match against Stevenage on bank holiday Monday, Wild detailed how he believes the football club has come on since his appointment.
He said: "Me, Iain [Wood], and Adam [Temple] were all brought in to try and progress the football and I really feel like we have done that. I really feel like we have given the club direction.
"We feel like the club has become more streamlined and structured behind the scenes which has allowed us to drive it in the right direction and hopefully there is more to come.
"I pride myself on going into football clubs that maybe do not have direction and giving them direction and feel like we have done that.
"The second part of the job is now to develop a plan, which is well underway, and ensure that we deliver on that plan. I think we have made real progress but I don’t think we have cracked it or are anywhere near where I want to be in terms of the final destination."
