Barrow-born Dave Myers said it was ‘lovely to be back’ when he appeared on ITVs This Morning alongside Hairy Biker co-star Si King.
The pair crafted lamb koftas for the show’s hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
Before making a start on the cuisine, Phil asked Dave how he is doing as he faces his ongoing battle with cancer.
“I’m doing very well,” said Dave. “And it’s so nice to be back Phillip.
“It’s work in progress but I’ve got my hair back and I’m feeling great.”
Holly added that Dave is ‘looking really well’, which he put down to healthy eating.
Si quipped that Dave is ‘just as irritating’ as he was before, planting a kiss on his cheek.
The dish is a recipe from the Hairy Biker’s brand-new book - The Hairy Dieters Eat Well Every Day.
Dave said: “It’s not a calorie counting thing but this dish, it’s really good for energy. You’ve got the protein and the koftas, there’s as many green lentils as meat in it.”
As Dave put ingredient upon ingredient into his lemon, tahini and saffron sauce, Si said: “I got off light again with the koftas haven’t I, it’s great. I’m so happy you’re back.”
Dave said: “It’s lovely to be back, it is, it’s like coming home.”
