PERMISSION is being sought to build two properties in a hamlet in south Cumbria.

Each of the two-storey, detached homes at Ravenstown, close to Flookburgh, would have its own front and rear garden and driveway.

A planning statement submitted in support of Mr T Rowlandson's application says: "It is anticipated that the proposed houses would front onto Jutland Avenue, replicating the form and character of the development which currently exists on the street."

The site, to the south of Tyme House, earmarked for development is 900 sq metres in size and is currently agricultural land.

The planning statement says that hedgerow would be removed to accommodate access points.

However, it says on-site planting would take place 'with opportunities to increase the amount of hedgerow as part of this development'.

"This will result in a net gain in biodiversity habitat and green infrastructure," it says.

A decision on the application is to be made by Westmorland and Furness Council.
