THE adventure company Go Ape is 'delighted' after being shortlisted for the School Travel Awards for the fifth year in a row, in the category of Best UK attraction.
The outdoor adventure company, which has Cumbrian sites at Whinlatter and Grizedale, has previously won this category in 2019 and 2020 as well as clinching the Best Adventure Experience in 2018 and 2019.
The prestigious awards ceremony will be presented by Olympic medallist, Katharine Merry on Tuesday June 6 at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London.
Go Ape has been nominated in the category of Best UK attraction alongside Cadbury World, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, KidZania London, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, and Zip World.
Go Ape senior sales manager, George Nolan said: "We are extremely proud and honoured to be nominated for best UK attraction at this year's STA's.
"To be recognised in this way as a leading UK outdoor activity destination for children considering the amount of other fantastic attractions, is an achievement in itself."
The School Travel editor and organiser of the Awards, Keeley Rodgers, said: "Learning outside the classroom needs to play an integral part of a child’s education.
"It isn’t just a nice extra to have at the end of term but vital when it comes to developing a range of life skills.
"Through the School Travel Awards, teachers and EVCs are able to highlight their favourite attractions, experiences, and providers for school trips - and it also helps recognise what’s best for others too.
"Anyone that has made the shortlist can be very proud of their achievement given the choice and quality now available for schools and educational organisations."
