The final night at Apollo Bingo in Barrow was described as an 'absolute cracker'.
Carol Riseley said: “Yes. It was a very emotional night for staff and customers as well. We had lots of good laughs with everyone who worked there, so sad to see it go and be turned in to a shop that won't last . We need two bingo halls so people can choose where to go. We will miss all the staff. Shocking, head office for letting it happen, shame on you!”
Nikki White said: “It was a brilliant place with brilliant people.”
John Mckinnon said: “Yes and it was emotional at the end to say goodbye to the staff. Had good memories, good laughs and good fun.”
Andrea Pitts agreed it was sad to see Apollo Bingo go, saying: “Yes definitely.”
Karen Hannaway said: “Yes, very sad night saying goodbye to the staff and friends I have made over the years have some fabulous memories there, it will be sadly missed.”
Readers said it was an emotional last session at soon to close bingo hall.
But R Andy Blythe said: “Many will be glad to see the back of it, was never the same after they got rid of Paul and Jimmy, the place was run by clowns no wonder it closed.”

Ring Piece wants the bingo hall to be replaced, saying: “Bowling alley please.”
The hall is closing after councillors unanimously approved a plan to bring Smyths Toys superstore to Hollywood Park unit in Barrow.
