AN APPLICATION to determine if prior approval is needed for a series of demolitions has been submitted to Barrow Borough Council.
BAE Systems wants to carry out the removals on land to the north of Buccleuch Dock Road and east of Michaelson Road in Barrow.
A cover letter submitted by estate agent Savills in support of the application says a warehouse, water tanks and single-storey portable cabins would be demolished.

"It is intended that, in due course, the site will be redeveloped, subject to first seeking planning permission for development," says the cover letter.
The document says demolition would take place in two phases. Bays one to five of the warehouse would be removed during phase one. The rest of the demolitions – including bays six to 17 of the warehouse – would occur in phase two.
The application has been submitted by Steve Fountain, of BAE Systems Marine Ltd.
