A LOVESTRUCK couple swiped right into each other's hearts after meeting on a dating app and wedding two years later.

Nicholas Chapman, a 36-year-old management consultant from Wilmslow, has married Natacha Tiemann, a 35-year-old maths teacher from Quebec in Canada.

The couple met on the dating app Hinge and enjoyed their first date together in Peckham nearly three years ago.

Nicholas said: "We met on the dating website, Hinge, and had our first date in Peckham in August 2020 (when Eat Out to Help Out was going on).

"Natacha was full of travelling stories and was generally very positive and friendly.

"Apparently I was also friendly and talkative.

"She was initially put off that I was essentially wearing slippers and said that the Eurovision film was in my top five, but got over these things quickly."

The smitten pair got engaged while on holiday in Sardinia.

"Natacha’s favourite bird is a flamingo so after we saw some on our walk, I took it as a sign and I got down on one knee on a deserted beach nearby," Nicholas said.

"She was so shocked she initially forgot to say yes. I think in general she had a feeling it might happen on that holiday!"

The couple got married in December at the Town Head Estate near Newby Bridge alongside 80 guests.

"It was such a special day," Nicholas said.

"My sister is an author and wrote a personalised reading for us.

"The speeches were incredible. The maid of honour wrote a poem about Natacha, her dad spoke beautifully and my best man struck a perfect balance between saying nice things and roasting me!

"The first dance was super special: it was quite upbeat which got everyone on the dance floor.

"The photographer Tiree Dawson did an unbelievable job and our lake pictures happened to coincide with sun (in December!)

"The food from Karen Rhodes Catering was delicious. We had an all-vegetarian wedding and limited food waste by taking it all home with us. We also had their wood-fired pizza van for the evening which we would recommend."

For their honeymoon, the newlyweds enjoyed a week in Morocco exploring the Atlas Mountains and Marrakech.
