THE owners of a popular music shop are undergoing a major restructuring exercise to focus on their main skillset.
The bosses of Full Octave in Market Street, Dalton, will now be centering their areas of work on piano tuning, restoration, sales and moves.
They will also be expanding their range of popular KORG digital pianos.
In line with the restructuring, the shop will be offering an extensive discount across a range of stock including guitars, violins and sheet music.
John Metcalfe, the owner of The Full Octave, said: "We are going to have sales going on in the next few months on every Friday to try and reduce the stock.
"We want to create more space to place unrestored acoustic pianos and restore them.
"We do recognise the enthusiasm people have for electric pianos but we do supply KORG.
"All the time we have been in Dalton the business has been kept alive mainly through work related to piano."
John said they offer tuning services all around Cumbria and down to Lancashire.
The owner said that pianos have become 'very popular now'
He said: "Especially due to this new TV programme called The Piano a lot more people now have taken up the instrument which is is quite surprising."
Mr Metcalfe has been been a piano tuner and repairer for about 50 years.
The company was established by John and his wife Liz Metcalfe in 1998 evolving from the family tuning and repair business set up by John’s father Arthur Metcalfe in the early 1950’s.
The Full Octave, as well as being a general music shop specialises in all things piano (both upright and grand), with a passion for resurrecting older and well loved instruments.
Their opening times are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday between 10am to 2pm.
