AN Ulverston primary school is preparing for a ‘lot’ of fun at its forthcoming fundraising evening.
After an absence of more than three years, St Mary’s Catholic Primary School is once again preparing to open its doors to the entire local community at an auction night this Friday.
Laura Byrne, headteacher of the Springfield Road school, said: “We are thrilled about the return of our auction night. It’s always such fun and there are some fantastic prizes up for grabs.
“We are grateful for the support we have received from the local community and the generosity of auction lots donated. We are looking forward to welcoming people from across Ulverston and the neighbouring areas into school. Everyone is welcome.”
Auction lots include dinner, bed and breakfast at Abbey House Hotel, signed Everton FC photograph, a four ball round of golf at Ulverston Golf Club, a ride in a car of the buyer’s choice from Matt Johnson Prestige, family tickets to the World of Beatrix Potter, a Barrow AFC home game, Windermere Lake Cruises and the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, a full Byonik treatment at Cara Tinning Skin Clinic and donations or vouchers from a number of local shops, restaurants and businesses including Muse and Base restaurant.
Proceeds from the auction, on Friday March 17, will go to the school’s Family and Friends of St Mary’s charity, which is currently fundraising for an immersive sensory pod.
The charity also supports curriculum-enhancing activities for the children. The school has a licensed bar for the event with doors opening at 7.30pm and the first item being up for auction at 8pm.
There will also be a raffle and games on the night. Card and cash payments will both be accepted.
St Mary’s is a small through primary school welcoming children from nursery to year 6 and has extensive grounds that have been fully utilised over recent years to include an allotment, bird hide, amphitheater, pond, hideaway house and dedicated forest school area.
