Margaret Alice MYERSCOUGH (Nee Sharrock)

Passed away peacefully in Furness General Hospital on 28th February. Beloved wife of Nigel, loving mother of Alan, mother-in-law of Dawn, loving sister of the late Colin, sister-in-law and loving nana to Emily and Lydia and great-nana to Ruby, Jack and Duggie and good friend to many. Friends please meet for service at St Michael's Church Pennington on Friday 10th March 2023 at 10.30am.

James (Jimmy) Alexander SEMPLE

Passed away peacefully at home on 28th February 2023 aged 91. Beloved husband of the late Josie. Devoted dad of David and Karen. Much loved father-in-law, grandad, great-grandad and good friend to many. Family and friends please meet for a service at St Mary's Church, Dalton on Friday 10th March at 12 noon. Joyce CAIRNS

Peacefully on 25th February, aged 78 years, after a long illness fought with great dignity. Beloved wife of the late Jimmy, precious mum of Stephen, dear sister, aunty, cousin and special friend to many. Funeral service to take place at St. Mary's Church, Dalton on Monday 13th March at 11:15 a.m. followed by interment at Barrow Cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Joan Postlethwaite Phifer (nee Hadwin)

Late of Baystonebank farm passed away peacefully at F.G.H surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Harry, dear mother of Ann and the late John, treasured mother-in-law of Michael and Carol and devoted nanna and great-nanna. Funeral service will be held at St Cuthbert's Church, Kirkby in Furness on Friday the 10th of March 2023 at 11.30am. Followed by refreshments at Grizebeck Village Hall. Family flowers only.

Rose Helen Holme (nee Graham)

Aged 80. Passed away peacefully on 20th February 2023, in the care of St Georges Nursing Home, with her loving husband by her side. Devoted wife to Frank, treasured mum to Andrew, Jacqueline, Tracey and Graham, grandma and great-grandma. Funeral service to be held at Saint John The Baptist Church, Skelsmergh, on Thursday 9th March 2023 at 12pm. Family flowers only please.

David Brown

Aged 85 years, formerly of Stainton Drive, Dalton passed away peacefully on 19th February with his beloved wife Kathleen by his side in the care of Risedale Ivies Dementia Unit. Devoted husband of Kathleen, dad of Pam, grandad of Charlotte, great grandad of Noah David, loving brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and dear friend of many who will be sadly missed but remembered in everyone's hearts. Family and friends please meet for a service to celebrate David's life on Wednesday 8th March, 11.30 am at St Mary's Church in Dalton-in-Furness, prior to cremation at Thorncliffe Crematorium. Joan COCKIN

Aged 88 years, died peacefully at home on the 23rd February, with her family by her side. Beloved wife of the late Derek, loving mother of Philip, Geraldine, Elizabeth, Joanne and Louisa, dear mother-in-law to Lynn, Jimmy, Ian, Sarabjeet and Dave. Much loved nanny and great-nanny to many. A dear sister-in-law, aunty and good friend, who will be very sadly missed (RIP). Beatrice Molly LITTLEHALES (nee Saunders)

Aged 95 years. Passed away peacefully on 22nd February 2023 at Furness General Hospital. Much loved wife of the late Thomas. Loving mum to Ian and Marilyn and mother-in-law to Carole and Michael. Treasured nana to Louise, Hannah and Eilis and great-nan to Jacob, Eleanor, Eliza and Elvie. A dear sister, sister-in-law, auntie and good friend, who will be very sadly missed. Keith TAYLOR

Aged 80 years, of West Shore Park. A dearly loved husband of Norma. Loving father of Deborah and the late Lawrence, father-in-law of Gary, a dear brother-in-law and uncle. Friends please meet for a service at Thorncliffe Crematorium on Wednesday 1st March at 12.15pm. Family flowers only.

Glenis THOMPSON (nee Etheridge)

Aged 76 of Stainton with Adgarley sadly passed away peacefully at Furness General Hospital on the 22nd February surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of Brian of 54 years, loving mam of Sharon and the late Robert, son-in-law of Ian, loving nana of Kayleigh, Robert and Sophie and a good friend to many. The funeral service will be held at St Mary and St Michael's Church in Great Urswick on Thursday 2nd March at 2:30pm. Family flowers only.

Diane Elizabeth Atkinson (nee Whitaker)

16th February, Aged 59. Suddenly, after a long period of poor health. Mercifully she passed away while peacefully asleep, in the company of friends in Ulverston. A private cremation will follow, with local charities benefitting from her legacy. Donations if desired, to St Mary's Hospice Ulverston would be particularly appropriate, given Diane's support of them in life.

Brian Hotchkiss

On 20th February peacefully in Risedale Retirement Home, aged 85 years. Loving son of the late Margaret and Harry, dear father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Funeral service to take place at Thorncliffe Crematorium on Thursday 9th March at 1:45 p.m. Family flowers only please, donations if so desired to Animal Welfare Furness.

John ‘Jack’ LAURIE

Parted this world peacefully on Monday 13th February, aged 84. Beloved husband of the late Pat. Treasured dad to Rob and Janice. Dearly loved grandad of Rebecca, James, Abi and Iain. Cherished great grandad to Kane, Alissa and Daisy. A much loved brother to Bill and the late Madge. Special uncle and friend to many. William (Bill) Gordon Myers

Aged 83 of Steel Street, Askam. Peacefully at home on Monday 20th February. Beloved husband of the late Renee, dearly loved mam of Clarissa. Much loved brother to Jean. Frank WHITEWAY

Aged 82 of Barrow, Former Isle Of Man T.T. and Manx Grand Prix Winner and current World Record holder. Senior Lecturer at Furness College, Engineering Training Manager for Kimberley Clark. Took his final lap and chequered flag on Monday 20th February 2023 suddenly after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband to Dorothy, brother to Harold and brother-in-law to Lynne and family. Beloved father to Susan and Julie, treasured father-in-law to Turner and Steven, cherished Grandpa to Frankie and Callum-Ramsey, respected friend and inspiring mentor to many. Janice RICHARDS

On 17th February aged 67 years, peacefully in Furness General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Barbara HILL (nee Fallon)

Passed away peacefully in Abbey View, Furness General Hospital on 18th February aged 72 years. Much loved wife of Brian, cherished mam of Tina and Catherine, mother-in- law of Murphy, adored nanna of Ebony and Amir, sister of Mike, Peter and Gwen, aunty, cousin and good friend to many. Martin RUSHTON

Aged 59 passed away peacefully at St Mary's Hospice on Saturday 18th February after a courageous fight against cancer. Beloved brother and best friend to Russ, brother-in-law to Carol, cherished son to the late Ron and Margaret Rushton, nephew to Ron and Barbara Bayliff and cousin to David and Susan.
