A HEALTHCARE company has missed two paydays leaving some of its workers struggling to put food on the table.
Workers at Me and My Health Hub Barrow, under Circular1 Health, were not paid in January and the company also failed to pay workers at the end of February.
In this time staff have been falling behind on mortgage payments and credit card bills, said one worker.

The worker, who wanted to keep their anonymity, said: "What do I tell my kids? At the moment I cannot afford food. The company just didn't care. This has gone on now for the whole month.
"Even if they pay us eventually they are not going to repair the damage they have caused. My mental health is at an all-time low. We (the staff) talk to each other and everyone is suffering. We reach out and we get no help."
The company opened a new health hub in December 2022 at Harding Rise in Barrow offering checkups to transition away from Covid-19 testing.
It said that it had now finally secured an investor and will pay staff 'as soon as the funds are in.'
The company told staff in the evening before payday on January 30 that it would not be able to pay salaries 'as planned.'
An email seen by The Mail said: "As you are all aware we are pivoting the business away from Covid and into Proactive Health.
"This brings with it many challenges which we have been discussing recently. One of those challenges is funding. Unfortunately for this month the mechanics and timing of the investment funds coming in is taking longer than expected. As a result, we will not be able to pay salaries tomorrow."
The email promised that the company was making 'good progress' in securing investors but this did not materialise until much later.
On February 28 another email was sent to the staff.
It said: "Agreements have been finalised by both Circular1 Health and investor legal teams in preparation for an expected signing tomorrow (Wednesday, March 1). We will advise further on this tomorrow along with details of when salaries will be paid.
"Please accept my sincere apologies for the amount of time it is taking to get through this process and the delays in payment of salaries."
The following day an email was sent saying there was 'no major update that we can give' and that another update would be provided the following day to staff.
The Mail contacted Circular1 Health on Thursday and a spokesman said: “Circular1 have secured investment which will enable the further growth and development of the business as previously stated. As soon as the funds are in we will be immediately in a position to bring staff payments up to date.”
