Fiona Richmond, head of regional food at Scotland Food & Drink, said: “Scotland has such a vibrant community of people who deliver incredible food tourism experiences and share our ambition for the country to be a must-visit destination for food and drink enthusiasts from around the world.

"The Hairy Bikers are incredible ambassadors for Scotland’s food and drink sector, having visited a number of businesses for their recent Go Local series including The Harbour Café in Fife and Blackthorn Salt, Ayrshire.

"We couldn’t be happier that they are joining us in Glasgow.”

Last month Dave got a new bike, a 500cc Royal Enfield bullet trials, to 'get back in the saddle.'

In January this year he appeared on BBC Breakfast in one of his first TV appearances since his diagnosis. He said: “It (the cancer) is still ongoing, but I’m kind of doing alright and you know, like many people, it’s something that one learns to live with.

“But I’m delighted, my hair – I’ve got thicker hair than I had before I had the chemo."

In an episode of their podcast Hairy Bikers - Agony Uncles, Dave said that his taste was 'completely shot' since having chemotherapy.

He said: "I taste something and I get it in my head what it is, but with the chemotherapy, what goes down that end is completely different.

“I had a craving for a fish finger sandwich the other day but when push came to shove it wasn’t doing it really. Taste is just completely shot. Changed.”

In other recent media appearances, on January 3, a new series called The Hairy Bikers Go Local started on BBC2.

The series saw TV chefs Dave Myers, born in Barrow, and Si King play cupid among local restaurants and local suppliers – encouraging them to ‘Go Local’.
