PLANS to 'transform' a Cumbrian beauty spot will be available to view at a public drop-in session next month.
The Iron Line project at RSPB Hodbarrow, Millom, is to include a new welcome centre and improvements to more than 7km of walking and cycling routes.
The scheme is one of four in the area being backed by £29.3m courtesy of the Government's Towns Fund and match funding.
Robert Morris-Eyton, chairman of the Millom Town Deal board, which has worked alongside Copeland Borough Council, said the Iron Line project was now in the delivery phase but was, neverthless, being 'further developed based on public feedback'.
"It will have direct benefits on the health and wellbeing of local residents as the area is enhanced to make it more accessible and inclusive for walking, cycling and exercise," he said.

“And – based on data made available to us – it will deliver a significant financial boost to the town as it attracts visitors and tourists."
A drop-in session is being held at Millom Guide Hall on Saturday, March 4 between 12.30pm and 6.30pm.
The new welcome centre to be built as part of the project is to feature a café-bar, retail space, events room and adjacent parking for around 80 vehicles. The Iron Line is also to involve 'upgrades' to 'significant landmarks'.
