TAKE part in a walk like no other by crossing the tidal sands and mudflats of Morecambe Bay.
Join landscape charity Friends of the Lake District on an adventure across the sands on April 30, setting off from Arnside in Cumbria.
The charity’s popular walk returns in 2023 with proceeds going to help it in its work to protect and enhance the spectacular landscapes of Cumbria and the Lake District.
You will cross the largest expanse of tidal mudflats and shifting sand in the UK, led by the Queen’s Official Guide to the Sands Michael Wilson. The walk is approximately seven miles long and suitable for anyone who is comfortable walking over uneven terrain for three to four hours.
The majority of the walk will be over sand, however you will also be required to wade through channels of water, which can be knee or even thigh-high, so be prepared to get wet.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and well-behaved dogs are welcome.
Tickets are now available via the charity’s website priced at £15 per adult and £10 per child.
