BARROW AFC manager Pete Wild praised his Bluebird's 'aggressive attitude' in their 1-1 draw in North Essex with Colchester United.

Wild's side looked to have secured victory against Matt Bloomfield's Us thanks to a 56th minute strike from Ben Whitfield however in the 95th minute Kwesi Appiah rescued a point for the hosts.

Despite the heartbreak of the late goal, Wild was impressed with the way his side had bounced back from last week 5-1 thrashing by Carlisle in the Cumbrian derby.

He said: "Really pleased, I thought we've played well, I thought we have dug in, I thought we have shown a character that has been lacking for weeks and a real aggressive attitude to be on the front foot.

"I thought we were well worthy of our goal, for 75 minutes, we had been the only team that looked like winning it.

"It is disappointing because it would have capped off what has been an excellent away from home performance."

"We got a reaction, both physically and mentally and I thought we got that in abundance."
