BARROW Raiders Ladies now know their opposition in the group stages of the Betfred Women’s Challenge Cup after the draw was made last night.

The Raiders Ladies have been placed in Group 4 alongside Leigh Leopards, Hull KR, and York Valkyrie.

For the first time ever, both the men's and women's Challenge Cup finals will be played as part of a double-header in 2023, with the event returning to its iconic home of Wembley.

On the draw, head coach Amanda Wilkinson said: "The Challenge Cup is always a great competition, and it's very pleasing to see that we will get the opportunity to play Super League Group 1 team York, as we haven't played them before and it's all part of the Super League experience for the team.

"Leigh will be a challenging game as they are a quality team, and last season we had to dig deep for the win.

"I don't know too much about the Hull KR team but it's always tough playing any team from Hull so again it will be a good experience for the girls.

"We are excited about the new format this season, of playing the fixtures during the regular season as opposed to before it like last year."
