2023 is set to bring an incredible array of acts and events to Barrow’s theatre.

From music to comedy and musicals to educational talks, there really will be something for everyone at The Forum this year.

A number of comedians are set to take to the stage during the course of the year including Hal Cruttenden with It’s Best You Hear It From Me on February 5, Chris McCausland with Speaky Blinder on February 17, Carl Hutchinson with Watch Till The End on March 26, Justin Moorhouse with Stretch and Think on April 30 and Tim Vine with Breeeep! on July 18.

Come What May will pay tribute to Moulin Rouge and other hit movie musicals on February 4 and Michael Starring Ben will bring pop icon Michael Jackson to life on the stage on February 18.

Local talent will also be flowing in abundance with the Voce charity concert on March 2, South Lakes Rock School with Highway to Heaven on March 5, Barrow Operatic and Dramatic Society with the Wizard of Oz between May 9-13, Furness Youth Theatre with Beauty and the Beast between May 18-20, Elite Dance and Fitness with Stars of the Future, between May 31-June 1 and KS Musicals: Rising Stars 2023 between June 11-12.

For some family fun, the Circus Spectacular is heading to The Forum on February 20, Tap Factory on February 22, American Wrestling, February 25, Fireman Sam Live on April 5, the Ugly Duckling by Northern Ballet on April 20 and Dinosaur World Live between June 13-14.

On February 15, An Evening with the Treble winners will see three legends from a golden era in the history of Manchester United, The 1999 treble winners, Wes Brown, Dennis Irwin and David May, interviewed by the official Old Trafford Stadium announcer Alan Keegan.

Other speakers to visit The Forum will be Mark Rhodes on February 9 and Hunting Killers with Mark Williams-Thomas on February 23.

Poet John Cooper Clarke will also be performing on May 6.

The Forum will also be involved with community events such as the Festival of Spring on April 1, a Community Fun Day on April 8 and Furness Pride on May 13.

Events Manager at The Forum, Joanne Marwood, said: “Moving forward into 2023 we’ve got quite a mixed programme!

“There’s a bit of something for everyone and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the venue in the new year.”
