Barrow AFC are set to bring in Bohemians defender Rory Feely.

The 25-year-old looks set to join the south Cumbrians in the January transfer window.

Reports in Ireland linked Feely with Pete Wild’s side, and the Barrow manager confirmed on BBC Radio Cumbria that the Bluebirds were aiming to seal a deal for the defender.

Wild, speaking after the 1-0 defeat to Swindon Town, said: “We’re hopeful of a deal with Rory in the next week, we’re hoping we can get that signed, sealed and delivered.

“We’ve been talking to Rory, he has been over, and hopefully there’s something to say on that in the next seven days.

“He’s a quick centre-half who can play right-back as well, he’s really good on the football, athletic, 25, up and coming, played 300 men’s games at 25, and a great character.

“He will certainly complement the group.”

Feeley has been with League of Ireland side Bohemians for nearly two years, and was previously been with St Patrick’s Athletic and Waterford.

He is the younger brother of fellow pro Kevin Feely, who played in England with Charlton, Carlisle and Newport.
