College helps guests get ready to sparkle for Christmas!
Furness College’s hair, beauty and catering teams left people feeling festive and ready to sparkle when they held a Christmas Extravaganza at Channelside this week.
Students and staff put on the free event to showcase skills that are on offer at college, treatments available to the public in the salon and the dining experience in the restaurant.
The beauty students offered hand massages, hair students gave styling demonstrations and the catering students served Christmas drinks and canapes to guests, including mocktails with mini Christmas trees and candy cane hot chocolates.
Dozens of people also took the opportunity to book into the salon, which is open to the public, and snap up some gifts from the salon shop.
Director of Curriculum Kate Colebourn said: “Well done to everyone who put this together and ensured our guests had such a good time. Everything ran so smoothly, felt totally professional and the passion from staff and students alike across both areas was amazing to see.”
A raffle in aid of the Barrow-based cancer support and fundraising group Lookin Good Feelin Great raised around £100.
