AN ELABORATE poppy display featuring hundreds of crocheted poppies has been created.
The Co-op Funeral Care Roose Road, Barrow, has made the stunning design in honour of Remembrance Day on November 11.
Bernice Woodhouse, whose daughter Samantha Silveri, works at the Co-op Funeral Care, has spent the whole year crocheting the bright red poppies.
Bernice previously used her crocheting skills to decorate the Co-op Funeral Care in Ulverston.
The staff at the Co-op Funeral Care have also got involved, crocheting their own poppies as well as recycling old plastic bottles.
Inspired by the Tower of London’s Remembrance service, the staff have collected plastic bottles, cut the bottoms off and painted them to look like poppies to add to the display.
One of the members of staff at Co-op Funeral Care, Mandi McQuillan said: “There must be well over 1500 poppies, both crocheted and made from bottles.
“I think it's amazing. Lots of people walk past outside and stop to have a look. There’s a bus stop outside so it’s nice that lots of people on the buses will be able to see them.”
