ANGER has been directed at a burglar who targeted a pub.

Cumbria Police are investigating a break-in at The Crown pub in Walney between 2:42am and 2:54am on Sunday.

The report is of a man approaching the property on a bike and entering the property. He is described as wearing a black hoody, black tracksuit bottoms and gloves.

Sophie Morrow said: "We posted this incident on our social media page to warn our local village and Town. Not only are these thugs targeting homes they are now breaking into people's businesses, since we posted another business came forward who had also been broken into."

Sarah Unsworth said: "Everyone saying why leave the takings in the till, does that mean they deserve what has happened to them. Thieves aren't invited in and or wanted."

Jacqui Sugden said: "Sadly, after Covid lockdowns all our businesses are struggling. Even established clubs are in the same boat! So sad & frustrating. I don’t know what the answer is! Good luck."

Angela Clements said: "Disgraceful feel sorry for all business owners having to worry about getting broken into life's hard enough trying to make a living."

Lordy Jason Edward Wood said: "This is a terrible sign of the times, and it's going to get worse sadly, with people not being able to afford the basics in life and massive cutbacks to policing, theft and burglary crime will go through the roof with the police having very little funding to do anything about it."
