A SPOOKTACULAR event saw people come together to raise money for a vital cause.

Stollers Furniture World in Barrow hosted a Hallowe’en Soiree at The Coro in Ulverston.

The soiree was held in benefit of St Mary’s Hospice and Stollers closed early to give staff the opportunity to attend.

Almost 200 guests were in attendance showing off some ghoulishly good outfits.

One such outfit was a terrifying clown holding a sign for ‘free hugs’.

Other outfits included cats, a medieval knight an undead marionette and Maleficent.

The night was filled with entertainment – including a visit from a fire eater.

Some of the décor included a spider hanging from the ceiling of The Coro, and images of bats projected against the walls.

Helen Carlson, head of fundraising at St Mary’s Hospice said: “This was an absolutely fantastic event, the costumes and the entertainment was amazing. Lee Stoller’s costume in particular was out of this world.

“Lee, the Stoller family and his team are great supporters of the hospice. They are always a joy to work with.

“This was their event and they took it forward and organised everything.

“There is still money coming in from the event but it raised a really significant amount and those funds will be so valuable to us.

“Eight out of ten of the patients we treat have their care paid for by voluntary donations, so events like the one on Saturday are hugely important for us.”

St Mary’s Hospice also thanked the staff at The Coro “for providing the perfect venue and excellent service.”

A Stollers Furniture World spokesman took to social media to thank those who attended.

They said: “Thank you so much to everyone who attended and helped out on Saturday night."

The amount of money raised is yet to be revealed.
