THE Ulverston Outsiders will present A Christmas Carol at the Coro this year.
The Ulverston Outsiders is an amateur drama group that has been running since 1935. The group was called The Outsiders because it was set up in Bardsea. Membership was opened to the public in 1936 after a meeting at The Coronation Hall.
The theatre group will return to The Hall with a production of the classic Charles Dickens play. Their version of A Christmas Carol will run on November 22-25 from 7.30pm to 10pm, two years after they first hoped to perform it.
This production of A Christmas Carol is by Patrick Barlow, which takes a comedic approach to the story. Multiple parts are played by a few actors but all the famous characters such as Scrooge, Marley and the ghosts will make an appearance.
The cast is led by Tony Smith, a long-standing member of The Outsiders who also led The 39 Steps.
