Families in Cumbria will benefit from vital support services thanks to extraordinary fundraising efforts.
This week marks the official close of a highly successful charity partnership, which has seen more than £375,000 raised to help support families across the North of England, Scotland and Northern Ireland in need of care services.
Lakes and Dales Co-op colleagues, customers and members have helped to raise the funds for charity partner Jigsaw Children’s Hospice in Cumbria, along with three other children’s hospices: Children’s Hospices Across Scotland, St Oswald’s Hospice in Newcastle upon Tyne and Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice in Belfast.
The partnership will ensure Jigsaw and other children’s hospices can support families during some of the most difficult times.
Eleanor Viney, Fundraising Manager at Jigsaw Children’s Hospice, said: “We are incredibly appreciative of the efforts made by Scotmid staff and customers to raise as many funds as possible for Jigsaw Children’s Hospice. Thanks to fundraising, the charity has been able to reach more families across the north of England, enabling the provision of essential care and respite in the comfort of their own homes during the toughest of times.
“Funds raised through this partnership will help us to continue providing our essential services; getting us one step closer to achieving our ambitious mission of reaching every child and family in Cumbria that needs our help.”
