TRIBUTES have been paid following the tragic death of a spiritual leader.
Mail readers have shared their tributes after the death of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche who died at the age of 91 on September 17.
Venerable Geshe-la was the founder of Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre at Conishead Priory.
He was a world-renowned Buddhist meditation master who pioneered the introduction of modern Buddhism into contemporary society.
Venerable Geshe-La designed the modern Buddhist Temple near Ulverston, which was built by Kadampa Buddhist students of Venerable Geshe-la as an offering to future generations. It was completed in 1997 and dedicated to world peace at a special opening ceremony.

A spokesman for the centre paid tribute to their late spiritual leader.
He said: “During his remarkable life, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche touched the hearts of countless people throughout the world.
“His wisdom, kindness and compassion are unequalled in these uncertain times.
“As we will see in coming articles, Venerable Geshe-la's legacy is both extraordinary and world-changing."
