THE scrapbook of an artist that was bought at auction will be the subject of a short documentary.
Gary Johnston bought the scrapbook of Barrow artist Minnie Pratt in an auction market in Carlisle. She died in 1980 with no immediate family and her adventures had been lost to time.
When he opened it he found drawings Minnie had done in Barrow and Ulverston, and from her travels across the world to Uganda, France, and the United States.

Through a group on Facebook, he managed to piece the life together of the artist. He handed the book to the Dock Museum for it to be preserved.
Next week, Gary will be meeting the producer/director of a short film outlining the story of him finding the scrapbook. The film will serve as an audio-visual introduction to an upcoming exhibition the museum will have on Minnie Pratt.
