FANS of TV chef and personality Dave Myers have rallied behind him after the latest update from his co-star and 'brother' Si King.

Si gave the update on his long-time co-star and good friend while giving a cookery demonstration at the Bolton Food and Drink festival.

Dave  had to pull out of the event because of his recent cancer diagnosis.

Si took the time to thank crowds at the end of the demonstration.

He said: "I just wanted to say, from Dave and I, thank you so so very much for all of the goodwill and support, all the messages really do not go unnoticed. He's doing canny but as you appreciate he's right in the trenches of it all at the minute but he's getting there, thank God."

Dozens of messages poured in from his Barrovian fans offering their support and love.

Bob Whittall said: "Can someone please get him a Greens pie - that will perk him up."

"Come on Dave, we know you have travelled the world but you are Barrovian... hard as nails!"

Maureen Neathway said: "You can do this Dave, we all love you and are routing for you."

Stephen D Jay said: "A very nice chappie! Thoughts are with you and your family. Speedy recovery squire."

Linda Mam said: "Get well soon Dave, Barrow will be with you all the way. Sending best wishes."

Louise Doran said: "Get well soon, keep on being strong and doing what you love in between."

Pete Ormrod said: "Good morning Dave, I’m a fellow Cumbrian now living in South London, I know exactly what you are going through having been there myself, it’s a long journey and at times it’s dark and scary but you’ll get there as I did.
