MILLOM Striders are introducing a Tuesday run night at Millom Community Track.
This will be from 2 August at 6.30 pm. It is for people 'new to running, those who have not been running for a while (for whatever reason) and lacking a bit of confidence or coming back from injury. All welcome.'
Millom Striders was formed in 2018 by a group of regulars who met at Millom Parkrun, which is deemed one of the hardest park runs.
They will be putting on a Halloween 10k fun run on 23 October.
They club recently hosted their own Lighthouse 10k event, which involved running around Millom and Haverigg.
Running is linked to lowering blood pressure and resting heart rate, improving blood sugar control, lowering triglycerides, lowering cholesterol and reducing body fat and waist circumference.
There are nearly 1 million downloads for 'coach to 5k' and an estimated 6 million people run once a week,
