Barrow Island crashed to their fourth defeat in their last five games in going down 31-12 at Normanton Knights.
The Knights were down to 12 men with Adam Biscomb sent off shortly before half time with the scores level at 6-6.
However, the home side went in at the break 12-6 ahead and took control in the second half.
The game hung in the balance for a short while at 13-6 when Islands, Noah Robinson was sin-binned for a high tackle.
The game swung away from the Island who posted tries from Cameron Currie and Robinson with goals from Brandon Corrie and Adam Jackson.
Despite this defeat the Island remain in third place above the Knights and this week are home to Crosfields.
Millom also met with defeat, they lost 28-6 at Oldham St Annes after trailing 10-0 at the break.
Ethan Kelly crossed for a consolation try converted by Jack Newbiggin.
The Woolybacks face Shaw Cross at home on Saturday.
In the NWML Hindpool went down 32-6 at Cadishead.
Ulverston went down 36-28 at Haresfinch despite a hat-trick from Jack Stephenson, other tries coming from Evan Foster and Dave Beck with Liam Saunders adding four goals.
Dalton also lost at Folley Lane 30-16 rounding off a miserable afternoon for local clubs, five defeats.
In the Barrow league, Dalton won a closely fought contest with Barrow Island 22-18, tries coming from Jack Gedling 2 and Dan Knott 2 with Leon Knight adding three goals.
For the Island, Toby Kendall, Ted Neuto, Reece Craig, and Cameron Currie touched down for tries with one goal from Sam Beattie.
