National Conference teams Barrow Island and Millom met with defeat at the weekend.
Millom went down 24-22 at home to Bentley in a closely fought contest at Devonshire Road
It was nip and truck throughout, and it was level pegging at the break 12-12.
Millom then edged ahead 16-12 only to trail 16-18 midway through the second half. Once more the lead was in the hands of the Woolybacks at 22-18 only for a late converted try to deny them the two points on offer.
Barrow Island were outclassed by a bigger set of forwards at Clock Face going down 46-12.
Tries for the Island came via Tyler McPoland and Brandon Corrie with two conversions from the boot of Max Moore.
In the Barrow and District, Askam were 32-22 winners at Millom "A" Tries for the Villagers coming from Roly Seward 2, Liam Somerville, Chris Broadley, Dan Rhodes, and Eddie Goodson with Brad Jackson adding four goals.
Tries for the Woolybacks came from Jackson Evans, Chris Bagshaw and Tom Millard a brace plus three goals.
Millions points scorers were Twere Ethan Kelly, Tom Askew,Jarty Robinson and Kian McPherson with three goals from Lee Postlethwaite.
