A RETROSPECTIVE application to change the use of a former hotel and restaurant to holiday accommodation has been submitted to Barrow Borough Council.
Permission is being sought to turn Valley View at Dalton into a nine-bedroomed holiday let.
Work was completed to transform it in June 2021, according to planning documents.
The retrospective application was submitted to the council on Thursday.
The Mail tried to contact the owners of Valley View but had not received a response by the time we went to press.
According to a listing on Sykes Cottages Valley View 'has recently been converted into a large holiday home for all types of guests wishing to explore all the delights of the Cumbrian countryside'.
"Choose from a range of sitting rooms to unwind after a long day sightseeing and tune into the TV and watch some of your favourite shows as the open fire warms you," it says.
"There is a wonderful library room which holds a large number of books; take one and head into the snug where you can enjoy some quiet time."
The hotel, formerly known as Clarence House, was put up for sale at the beginning of 2020.
In January of this year, the site was still up for sale with offers in the region of £1.7m sought.
The borough council planning portal says the change-of-use application is at the 'public consultation' stage.
