AN APPLICATION that would see an extension to a workshop built at a model passenger railway is to be scrutinised by the borough council's planning committee.
The submission concerning the railway in Barrow Park would also see six solar panels placed on the roof of the building.
A report produced by case officer Jennifer Dickinson ahead of the planning committee meeting on July 12 says: "The extension measures 5.5m by 4.5m and essentially doubles the length of the existing workshop."

She welcomes the proposed addition of solar panels to the roof.
"The use of renewable energy is encouraged by the council through other initiatives and policies, and this will provide a sustainable source of electricity for the building," she says.
"This will complement the existing generator on site as it does not benefit from mains electricity."
She recommends the application for approval, saying the plans would 'enable the model railway to continue functioning as an added attraction for visitors to the park'.
