FESTIVAL-goers of Furness will be heading to Aldingham Fields in their thousands this weekend to take part in a community-based music festival featuring some internationally famous artists.

The inaugural Coast Roads Festival, organised by The Lock In, will be welcoming revellers on Saturday and Sunday to enjoy seven stages of performers stretching across the festival site, overlooking the shores of Morecambe Bay with legendary indie band The Coral headlining the main stage.

The lineups for the stages are all now confirmed but Malcolm Lingard, from The Lock In, said while they are delighted to be able to entice globally famous acts, local acts will feature prominently, and has given a taste of what ticket-holders can expect.

"The main stage will feature national acts such as The Coral, Everything Everything, and Crazy P - intertwined with the best of talented local musicians, such as Jon Byrne and Aim and Niko," he said.

"Our Dance Tent too, is home to worldwide superstars, such as Darius Syrossian, Yousef, and Ben Hemsley, playing alongside the cream of local DJ talent such as Strike One, Olita, and dad and daughter duo Pete and Edie.

"Local champions Bags of Love have permanent residence at the Unity Stage.

"With names you may have heard around the fantastic Furness gig circuit, expect nothing but good vibes.

"The last stage is split over two days - on Saturday, this stage will duck and dive through an array of alternative genres, with tracks being spun by the likes of Homegrown DJs, Hunny, and Las Titis. On Sunday the vibe will shift, showcasing our still thriving local Northern Soul scene.

"We also have thought about family comfort, and we have a dedicated family area, where families can let their kids get involved in workshops or watch a magic show whilst they take a load off on a hay-bale and change nappies, get something to eat, and recharge.

"We are currently working hard on site to make it something that people won't forget. We are helped massively by the sweeping backdrop of Morecambe Bay.

"The view is quite incredible, the festival stage is set, all we need now is people to come to bring their biggest smile they can manage and have a ball.

"We look forward to seeing you there, for what should be a weekend that will be absolutely incredible.

A weekend which has been powered by the community, one that at The Lock In, we love so much."
