A former teacher from Barrow has signed a book deal with Bloodhound books.
Paula Hillman changed her career because she wanted to write and is now just finishing her masters degree in creative writing.
On the Bloodhound books website, Paula said: "I wrote many texts and playscripts as part of my job as a teacher and I wanted to do more. Writing is a therapy, as much as walking in nature is, to me.
"Barrow people are community driven and welcoming and their character is unique in so many ways. I want to capture all of this in the books I write."
Paula has already won a prize for her writing with her memoir extract featured in the I Am In Print festival.
Bloodhound books are an independent publishing house that specialise in printing eBooks but also offer print on demand paperbacks for all titles.
