A BARROW woman who sustained a fall at home died accidentally in hospital, an inquest has heard.
Marjorie Dempster, 84, who suffered from osteoperosis, a condition that weakens bones, making them fragile and more likely to break, fell at her home address on Ennerdale Drive in Barrow, while using a walking frame on January 25, 2022.
At the Coroners' Court in Cockermouth, Assistant Coroner for Cumbria Margaret Taylor heard that Mrs Dempster, who was a widow, was admitted to Furness General Hospital after the fall.
The inquest heard that her health deteriorated while in hospital, and she died the following day, on January 26, 2022, as a consequence of Cervical Spinal Cord Trauma.
Ms Taylor concluded that Mrs Dempster's death was accidental.
