PLANNED road closures have been announced for the Appleby Horse Fair which will take place this month.
The Appleby Horse Fair takes place between June 9 and June 15 with the main days being Thursday to Sunday.
Motorists should expect delays on surrounding routes particularly the A66 Appleby Bypass, B6542 and B6260.
During the days of the fair a number of road closures are likely to be in place at the following locations:
- B6542 The Sands, between Bridge Street and Station Road.
- B6260 Bridge Street, between Low Cross and The Sands.
- Long Marton Road “Flashing Lane” from Salt Tip Corner to Clickham Farm.
- Jubilee Ford, between Castle Bank and The Sands.
A decision will be made each day by members of the Appleby Horse Fair Multi-Agency Strategic Coordinating Group (MASCG) to determine whether the closures are required and the appropriate times.

The Fair is expected to attract 10,000 Gypsies and Travellers, over 30,000 other visitors.
